Background

Ida Gudim entered the world of stage direction first as an assistant director for Stefan Herheim on his production of FALSTAFF in 2020. The transition came naturally after many years of producing concerts and smaller stageproductions as a professional opera singer. She has directed short operas for institutions such as Opera Østfold (THE TELEPHONE), Oslo Operafestival (THE RAKES PROGRESS/THE LOBBY) and Nynorskens hus (DU MÅ IKKE SOVE), as well as several independent productions aimed towards children, such as EVENTYR I ÅSGÅRD and OPERA LAGET I FARTA! for The cultural Schoolbag in Oslo. In the season of 2024/2025 she will join Piu Project as director for THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN for soloists and Simfonetta.
